Nik Nowak (*1981 in Mainz, lives in Berlin) critically examines the use of sound as a weapon and medium of propaganda in his artworks. With Schizo Sonics he has realised a large-scale audio-visual installation featuring two powerful sound sculptures in the Kesselhaus at KINDL – Center for Contemporary Art. A specially produced audio work deals with aspects of Cold War politics using examples of ideological and acoustic proxy wars, such as those fought in Berlin in the 1960s on the border between East and West Germany or in Jamaica in the 1970s.

The exhibition is curated by Kathrin Becker.
